Mahbub Alam Siam, a 17-year-old from Bangladesh, ventured out with his friends on the 14th to create a TikTok video that would forever change their lives. Their setting was the Bazar Railway Bridge, where they planned to film themselves walking near the tracks as a train thundered by, adding an element of danger to their video.
In the midst of filming, Siam stood closer to the tracks than was safe, seeking perhaps the most dramatic angle, while his friends positioned themselves more cautiously. The moment the Kanapuli Express Train approached, its whistle piercing the air, they started recording. But tragedy struck when Siam, caught up in the excitement, didn’t realize how close he was. The train’s massive body hit him from behind, resulting in a gruesome scene where he was fatally injured, blood marking the guardrail. Despite the immediate medical attention, Siam succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The local police, upon arriving at the scene, confirmed Siam’s untimely death. His family, upon hearing the news, hurried to the bridge, only to face the heart-wrenching task of taking him home, enveloped in grief over the sudden, sorrowful end of a young life.
